What a great way to end 2013!
I completed 13 months of running every day with a total of just under 1400 miles in that time. (That's about the distance from Detroit to Miami)
I also ended the year on a high note by getting back into the “woods”… meaning the woodshop. I’ve honestly been avoiding it for some time now, not exactly sure why. Maybe I was thinking I had created all that I could create. Or maybe, I was feeling a little worn down. It’s always felt like one or the other for me.
Running or Painting.
It’s about time for a change. I proved to myself I can run every day and I made time for, day after day. For 400 days straight, I ran.
Let me paint a quick picture of the last 13 months...
I got up before 4am to log in 18 miles, drove 4 hours to Michigan and witnessed my second nephew being brought into the world... all in the same day.
After a long day of traveling, with my jeans on, my cousin's gym shoes (no socks), and holding on tightly to my girls, I cruised around the resort, because the airline lost my luggage. But I ran.
With a terrible cold, clocked 5 miles.
2 marathons. 10 additional races. Every holiday. My 30th Birthday. Sore legs. Cramped muscles. Late nights and early mornings. I ran. I did it.
I made the time.
Now it’s time to prove to myself I can make the time for both. So I’m back. I’m ready to create again.
Just dream it.
